A baby lotion and diaper balm built for parents who read every label.
Muslim parents know what they are looking for. You know what to avoid. Two Leaf Baby has two ingredients in the lotion and three in the balm — every one of them disclosed, traceable, and halal verified. No guesswork. No investigation required.
Most natural baby products still require investigation. Ours does not. Here is why the halal question takes thirty seconds to answer.
No alcohol in any form. Water-free formulas require no alcohol-based preservatives. Nothing here to investigate.
Both core ingredients are from plants. Shea butter from the shea tree. Coconut oil from the coconut palm. No animal derivatives.
Two ingredients in the lotion. Three in the balm. No emulsifiers, no stabilizers, no synthetic compounds to investigate.
No added fragrance of any kind. Fragrance compounds can contain alcohol or prohibited derivatives. We add none.
Choose by your standard. Both are clearly explained.
No alcohol. No animal derivatives. No synthetic fragrance. No ambiguous ingredients. The lotion meets halal standards without qualification. Two ingredients, both plant derived, both clearly identified.

The balm contains beeswax — a natural byproduct of honeybees, not derived from slaughter. The majority of Islamic scholars consider beeswax halal. We disclose it upfront so you can apply your own household standard.
Shop Diaper BalmWe want to address this directly rather than bury it in a footnote. The Diaper Balm contains beeswax. Here is everything you need to know to make your own decision.
Beeswax is a natural wax produced by honeybees to build their honeycomb. It is collected and filtered. It is not derived from the slaughter of an animal. The prohibition in Islamic law on animal-derived products primarily concerns animals slaughtered without the correct invocation, or things derived from blood, flesh, or organs of prohibited animals.
Beeswax does not fall into these categories. The majority of Islamic scholars across the major madhabs — Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, and Hanbali — consider beeswax halal. It has been used in foods, medicines, and cosmetics in Muslim-majority countries for centuries without controversy.
The Diaper Balm is halal. All three ingredients are either plant derived or a natural insect byproduct. No alcohol, no prohibited animal derivatives, no synthetic fragrance.
The Baby Lotion contains no beeswax and is halal without any qualification. Two plant-derived ingredients. Use the lotion and skip the balm.
We are not Islamic scholars and we will not make a ruling. We are telling you exactly what is in the product and trusting you to apply your own standard. That is how it should work.
With fifteen to twenty ingredients, several of them require investigation. Is this emulsifier animal derived? Was this preservative processed with alcohol? What is in this fragrance compound?
"With two ingredients you already know the answer before you finish reading the label."
That is not an accident of our formula. It is a direct result of removing everything that did not need to be there — which turned out to be everything except the two ingredients that actually work.
For families who care about what is permissible, knowing the full supply chain matters. We built ours to be seen.
Yes. Shea butter is a plant-derived fat from the shea tree nut. It contains no animal derivatives and is widely considered halal by Islamic scholars across all major madhabs.
Yes. Coconut oil is entirely plant derived with no animal ingredients. It is halal.
The majority of Islamic scholars consider beeswax halal. It is a natural byproduct produced by honeybees — not derived from slaughter, blood, or flesh. It has been used in foods, medicines, and cosmetics in Muslim-majority countries for centuries. Some households prefer to avoid it. We disclose it clearly and leave the standard to you.
No. Neither product contains alcohol in any form — not as a preservative, solvent, fragrance carrier, or ingredient of any kind. Water-free anhydrous formulas do not require alcohol-based stabilizers.
No. There is no added fragrance of any kind in either product. The mild natural scent of unrefined shea butter and virgin coconut oil is all that is present. Fragrance compounds can contain alcohol or prohibited derivatives — we add none.
We are not halal certified. We are a small handmade brand. What we offer is complete ingredient transparency — two and three ingredients, fully disclosed, with no hidden compounds. The halal status of each ingredient is straightforward and verifiable by any Muslim parent in under a minute.
The lotion is halal without any qualification — two plant-derived ingredients, no beeswax. The balm contains beeswax, which most scholars consider halal, but we note it clearly for households with stricter standards. Many Muslim families use both. If you are uncertain about beeswax, the lotion alone is an excellent daily moisturizer for your baby's skin.
No alcohol. No ambiguous derivatives. No synthetic fragrance. Shipped with your batch video and a personal thank you.
