How long does it last?
Unopened: 3 months from the batch date stamped on the bottom. Opened: 30 days for the lotion, 45 days for the balm. Store in a cool dry place — a bedroom nightstand is better than a bathroom shelf.
Is it safe for newborns?
Yes. Both products contain only food grade natural ingredients with no synthetic additives, fragrances, or preservatives. Always patch test first as you would with any new product on newborn skin.
Is it halal?
The lotion — yes. No alcohol, no animal derived ingredients. The balm contains beeswax. Consult your own standard on beeswax if that matters to you. See our full Halal page for complete detail.
Is it vegan?
The lotion is 100% plant based and vegan. The balm contains beeswax and is not vegan. We are upfront about this because it matters.
I heard coconut oil can clog pores. Is that safe for a baby?
That concern comes from adult acne skincare — specifically a rating system developed for acne-prone facial skin. Shea butter and coconut oil have been applied directly to infant skin across West Africa, South Asia, and equatorial climates for thousands of years. Applied in a small amount to damp skin after a bath, they absorb and protect without clogging. The one exception: if your baby has newborn baby acne in the first two to three months (caused by maternal hormones, not products), skip the face until it clears on its own. For body use, these are among the most time-tested ingredients in the world.
